Seach Box

As Blogger always keep demo content on gadgets when a new theme is installed, you don't need to replace the code inside the Search gadget.
In case you lost it, you can copy the code below.

Search box with an icon button

Themes like Matter or Alpaca have a search similar to this:
If your theme has a search box with an icon button, like the image above, use the code below:
<div class='gbml-search'>
<form action='/search' class='search-form' method='get'>
<input class='search-form-field' id='search' name='q' type='text' value=''/>
<button alt='search' class='search-form-btn' type='submit'>
<i aria-hidden='true' class='fa fa-search'/>
</i></button>
</form>
</div>

Search box that opens within a dropdown

Themes like EtherealPlush or Vanilla have a search similar to this:
If your theme has a search box that opens within a dropdown, like the image above, use the code below:
<div class='gbml-search'>
<form action='/search' class='search-form' method='get'>
<input class='search-form-field' id='search' name='q' type='text' placeholder='type + enter' value=''/>
</form>
</div>
You can change the blue text if you want to modify the sentence inside the search. Be careful to not delete any quotation marks.
