Menu Pages and Links

You can add two types of links on your menu:
1. pages
2. external links

Adding a page

Important: You need pages already created before adding any of them on your menu. If you don't have any page yet, go to "Pages" and click on "New page" to create one.
To select your pages on the menu:
  1. Go to Layout on the Blogger vertical menu
  2. Open the Menu/PageList gadget
  3. Locate Pages to show and check the ones you want to display

Creating a dropdown

Two levels of dropdown are available and they are created by adding an external link.
For the first level, you have to add one underscore (_) on the link's name. For the second level, you have to add two underscores (__).

  1. Click on +Add external link
  2. On Page Title, write the name of the link. If it is the first level of the dropdown add _ before the name. Example: _about. If it is the second level, add __ before the name. Example: __travel. Do not add spaces.
  3. On Web Address(URL) paste the URL. If you don't have any real link but need to create a trigger to open a dropdown, you can use a hashtag symbol (#) instead.
  4. Click on Save Link

The links with underscores follow a hierarchy, it means that the links with two underscores should be placed below the link with one underscore to make sure that the dropdown will open on the correct parent link. Example:

Categories (parent link that will open the first dropdown)
_Travel (first dropdown link that will open the second dropdown)
         __Australia (second dropdown link)
         __France
         __USA
    _Lifestyle
    _Personal

Adding a label/category link

Category labels are added on the menu by an external link.
You need labels already created to add any of them to your menu. If you don't have any, create a draft post with all the labels you want to add.

To add label links to the menu, follow the same steps on the "Creating a dropdown" section above.

The link for the label looks like this:
/search/label/Travel

If you want to determine how many posts will be displayed on the label page, use this link:
/search/label/Travel?max-results=9
The 9 is free to be changed. 999 is the maximum allowed.

Important: Labels are case sensitive: "travel" is different from "Travel" which is also different from "TRAVEL". Make sure that you are using the correct label.

Adding a blog link

A "blog" link is nice to have when your theme has a custom homepage that not display your most recent posts or has a lot of widgets. It will show an index page with the published posts.
To add a blog link to the menu, follow the same steps on the "Creating a dropdown" section above.

Use this link:
/search?max-results=4
The 4 is free to be changed. 999 is the maximum allowed.
